AKUREYRI – THE AREA OF GRÁNUFÉLAGIÐ IN ODDEYRI – application of 3D models in presenting a planning project and data collection.

A 3D model of the area of Gránufélagið and its surroundings was created to follow up on an advisory residential poll held by Akureyri municipality in relation to a proposed change in the current municipal plan. In line with the residential poll, the 3D model included the three different building height options within the area. A web survey was created, where those interested had the opportunity to compare the three options in 3D, and state their opinions on these three options as well as on urban densification in that particular area. 231 subjects completed >90% of the survey and the results were sent to Akureyri municipality.
